Online Viola Tuner

Use this free online viola tuner to tune up your viola. This is for the standard CGDA viola tuning. Click on the note for the string you want to tune and then turn the tuning pegs on your viola and match it up with the note that is being played. Use your tuning pegs at the top of the viola to get close to the correct tone, and then use the tuning pegs on the bridge to do the fine tuning.

Note: Both the Viola and Cello have the same tunings, only the strings on the Viola are 1 octave higher. So you can use this online tuner to tune your cello also!

Ugh! It agrovates me that violin players come on here just to say that the violin is better. IT IS NOT! They are all equaly important to the string family.

oh my gosh! if people play the violin, they should just stay on the VIOLIN tuner and not the VIOLA tuner. If they think that violins are just so much better. (which, in my opinion,I think they are both cool.) It almost makes me mad.Serioulsly, what are violin players that think the violin is better than the viola even doing on the viola tuner anyways, and what for, just to say that their violin is better than violas? Wow, that just seems plain old immature, and sometimes, people should just keep their opinions to themselves. If you violinists want to go on and on about how you're so much better than us, do it on your own tuner. Leave coments about your violins on the VIOLIN tuner. NOT the VIOLA tuner.

To Shelly Shivers: I think high notes are something you just need to get used to. Since you've been playing for a short time, your ear is probably not yet accustomed to the wide range on the viola. I've been playing four years and don't have that problem. Give it time and see. Try some exercises that have wide range, like two octave scales; for no shifting start on the c-string or 1st finger d on the c-string. (Remember high threes in the d major and low twos in the c-major. High threes are killer!) Hope I helped!
